AMENDMENT 79

Homestead Tax Credit (Arkansas Code 26261118)

Starting with the 2007 assessment year, Arkansas taxpayers are eligible for an annual state credit up to $375 against the ad valorem property tax on a homestead. The tax credit may not exceed the total property tax on the property. A homestead is defined as a dwelling used as the property owner’s principal place of residence. Counties give the tax credit to eligible taxpayers and receive reimbursement from the Treasurer of State using the Property Tax Relief Trust Fund (Arkansas Code 2626310).
